AI Agents for Real-World Data: Clinical Decision Support and Analytics Insights in Cardiovascular Care.
Introduction
This one-hour interactive workshop shows how AI agents working on real-world data can strengthen cardiovascular care in Oman, from population analytics to patient-specific decisions. The programme focuses on secondary prevention after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).
The session moves through five steps. It opens with the national clinical challenges and opportunities in Oman. It then reviews post-AMI and post-PCI lipid-lowering and antithrombotic management and presents the design of the Post-AMI CARE Study, the first AI-native registry in Oman. A live eMed Care & Insights case follows, then a demonstration of AI-driven analytics on routine care data from health information systems such as Shifa. It closes with an open discussion on turning population insights into clinical action.
Target Audience
- Cardiologists; interventional cardiologists; internal medicine, family medicine, diabetes and obesity specialists; quality officers and managers.

Educational Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the main clinical challenges and new opportunities in cardiovascular care in Oman, including gaps in secondary prevention after acute coronary events.
- Recognize priority domains of secondary prevention after AMI and PCI: LDL-C target attainment, timely lipid-lowering intensification, and individualized antithrombotic strategy and DAPT duration based on ischaemic and bleeding risk.
- Explain the rationale and design of the Post-AMI CARE Study and the role of an AI-native registry in real-world data collection and quality assessment.
- Differentiate population-level analytics, configured registry dashboards and patient-specific clinical decision support, including their essential use boundaries.
- Assess how AI-driven analytics of routine care data from health information systems such as Shifa can support quality monitoring, care-gap identification and real-world research on the clinical challenges in differentiating left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) phenotypes and their implications for patient management.
